AI use and human oversight
How AI is used in Nokkam, what it decides, and what only a person decides.
What the AI does
Nokkam reads your instruction and your files, writes a plan with named steps and a spending limit, and produces drafts: drawings, splits, bills of materials, estimates, letters. It shows its working and the sources it used.
What only a person does
- Approves anything that ships, spends or goes to a customer.
- Signs engineering work and takes professional responsibility for it.
- Raises a spending limit, or changes what Nokkam is allowed to attempt.
- Grants or removes another person's approval rights.
Refusals are a feature
Every plan states what Nokkam will not attempt. Work that reaches its limit stops and asks rather than finishing at any cost. We consider a stop-and-ask a correct outcome, not a failure.
Limitations you should assume
Output can be wrong in ways that look plausible, especially on unfamiliar categories, unusual geometry, or stale rate data. Estimates are bands, not quotes. Treat every artifact as a draft from a capable junior. Useful, and never to be signed unread.
Records and recourse
Every run and every approval is recorded with the person's name, the ceiling and the cost. If an output caused a problem, the record shows exactly what was proposed, what was approved, and by whom.
Human review of decisions about people
We do not use Nokkam to make automated decisions about individuals, such as hiring, credit or discipline, and it must not be configured to do so.
